About Hotel Refugio de Juanar
For centuries, man and nature have coexisted in harmony in the saws of Ronda and Ojén, where the so known in Malaga City Marquis of Larios, built their hunting refuge over which, was built the parador “El Refugio del Juanar”, transformed into a Hotel now a days. Rustic and stately at the same time, the Refuge of Juanar is at 2.500 feet, and offers the visitor the chance of enjoying life and mountains air with all the comfort and amenities of a category Hotel.
El Refugio del Juanar has had the pleasure of hosting many distinguished guests (in fact, it was one of the favourite resting places of Alfonso XIII), as General Charles de Gaulle, who chose it as the perfect place to finish his memories in 1970.

The "Refugio del Juanar" has rooms for up to 60 people, all of them spacious and with lovely rustic wood decoration: bathroom with hair dryer and bath compliments, direct phone, satellite TV. , mini–bar, central heating and room service. Some have the morning sun, and the rest to the evening sun.

The Hotel is located in the heart the Nature Park and biosphere reserve of Sierra de Las Nieves, a peaceful and quite place perfectly located at less than 15 minutes drive from Marbella.
A visit to the Refugio de Juanar is the perfect occasion to discover the joys of outdoor living: pure air, pine forest, delicate flowers (including a variety of wild orchids), wild animals (Golden Eagle, Eagle Owl, Spanish Ibex), and rare fir species (chesnut, Abies pinsapus…), the natural park has well–marked paths which will be enjoyed by the senderism lover.
The Refugio de Juanar itself also offers his guests entrainment facilities: tennis court, swimming pool, lounge area for reading and television and restaurant.

El Refugio de Juanar kitchen prides itself of supplying tasty food inspired in the surrounding Landscape, where game dishes and vegetables are a speciality: marinated partridge, venison, pheasant, quail, and, during hunting season, mountain goat. Seasonal vegetables are also very popular between our clients. We also recommend our delicious typical Spanish dishes such as the so famous Segovia–style roast suckling pig, lamb and roast kid, along with an array of international dishes.
El Refugio del Juanar also has a “Bodega” with more than 7.000 bottles of Rioja, Ribera del Duero…Just the best selection of Spanish wines.
