For centuries, man and nature have coexisted in harmony in the saws of Ronda and Ojén, where the so known in Malaga City Marquis of Larios, built their hunting refuge over which, was built the parador “El Refugio del Juanar”, transformed into a Hotel now a days. Rustic and stately at the same time, the Refuge of Juanar is at 2.500 feet, and offers the visitor the chance of enjoying life and mountains air with all the comfort and amenities of a category Hotel.
El Refugio del Juanar has had the pleasure of hosting many distinguished guests (in fact, it was one of the favourite resting places of Alfonso XIII), as General Charles de Gaulle, who chose it as the perfect place to finish his memories in 1970.

El Refugio de Juanar kitchen prides itself of supplying tasty food inspired in the surrounding Landscape, where game dishes and vegetables are a speciality: marinated partridge, venison, pheasant, quail, and, during hunting season, mountain goat.
